- Bluebirds eat fruits and hunt spiders, and other insects. The birds perch, watch, and then swoop to the ground to pounce on their prey.
- Black-capped chickadees do not migrate. They live in pairs during the spring and summer. In the fall and winter, they live in small flocks.

Migration
Every bird is familiar with migration as a great time to see new and unusual bird species passing through areas where they might not be found during the breeding or wintering seasons. Bird migration is a seasonal journey that happens twice each year. Some bird species migrate but not all do. Birds that migrate are called migratory birds, birds that do not are called resident birds.
Birds migrate in search of food. Food is abundant in warm, sunny places and nearly absent in dark, snowy locations. What's more, food is more plentiful in places with longer days than nights and long days give birds more time to hunt for food.
